Good afternoon
I am trying to create a straight stair with 12 risers + landing + 14 risers + landing + 12 risers, total 43 risers and I get this message: "Fail to generate automatic landing layout".
I was following this solution https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/stair-landing-problem-problem-and-workaround...
but it's no working.
any suggestions please? ![]()

I'm trying to figure out your math. 12+14+12=38. No?
What???
...yep. My Texas Instruments Calculator confirms it. 12+14+12=38. ![]()
I am counting the 2 risers generated by the 2 landings=4 + the final landing at the end =1:
38+4+1=43

That's 12+14+12 plus another 5. Where does the 5 risers come from?
5 = 43-12-14-12
Rebar cover is not activated
I went into the family editor to find it but nowhere...
I did not work.
thank you
Default stairs ends a run with a riser...so you don't have a riser for your landing, it is at the end of the run.
@barthbradley's riser count is correct... See pic...ignore riser height...
Alright then. 5 risers could be another 2 1/2 feet of rise (figuring a 6 inch riser height). Maybe we should ask what the total rise is supposed to be -- instead of guessing.
Oh...straight stairs...Still 38 Risers 12 + 14 + 12 = 38
Screw it, @Anonymous. Like I said on your duplicate thread: Use a Ramp.
he, he.

Rebar cover is a serious bizness
Not at all, @Anonymous! I like you. Promise.
I'm just feeling a little giddy. Sorry.
