Create a new project from the Architectural template (or open the template directly), then switch to your project and go to Manage > Transfer project standards > Walls to transfer them from the template to yours.

(Walls are system family so they do not exist as external families in the library lie doors or windows.)

That's it? Just edit a Generic type, change Function to Exterior, edit Structure, change Thickness to 10" and material to Concrete.

There are no System Families, such as Walls, Floors, Roofs, etc., in the Library.  What the Library contains is Loadable Families -- a whole different animal.

if you have a project that already has that wall in it, do a Transfer Project Standard.

  • open the file that has the desired wall
  • Manage ribbon > Settings > Transfer Project Standard
  • pick the file from the list
  • pick CHECK NONE!
  • scroll down the list and pick the Wall Type option
  • select OK

this will transfer all the wall types from the selected file into yours.
