Extend stair rail past bottom riser?

Hi all. I searched the forum but couldn't find this one. Our structural engineer is telling us that we have to have the first three risers of this stair in concrete and the rest in steel with pan treads. Our issue is that we can't model the railing of the upper stair properly. It extends all right, but in the horizontal direction, not following the slope of the lower risers. Is there a way around this without mickey mousing two separate railings? TIA.

I would first determine the railing drop

Edit the railing and select the line and switch it to sloped with custom height

The railing will continue

Amazing! That worked, except that the balusters don't attach to the lower treads. But we can fake that in.

Yea...this is unfortunate for the baluster. They don't like any negative value. Usually I have to modify baluster family to allow the negative offset.
