Exporting to Ifc

Hello,

I open an Ifc file in Revit and export it twice as Ifc.

My issue is that for certain elements, e.g. IfcDoors, the element IfcGlobalId I get differs in each exported Ifc file.

Shouldn't it be the same and equal to the IfcGuid I see in Revit?

I have tried it and it hasn't worked.

When I open the Ifc in Revit I can see in the IfcGUID the value that exists in the original Ifc file.

I export it as you suggested and I cannot find in the exported Ifc file the IfcGUID value that exists in the Revit file.

Any explanation?

@ymakJ492S

IfcGUID should not change..See below GIF and the settings used in the standard OOTB exporter

  • use Link and Export instead of Open and Export
  • Export Links as separate IFC
  • make sure the option to store ifcGUID to a parameter is checked
