Hi everybody,

I hope you´re all well.

I am a new Revit user and looking for advise on the best way of getting a dxf file from a Revit model provided by a client, being able to do the following:

1. Select elements to be exported

2. Group elements in new layers. Let say I want to add all types of walls and colums to a layer called Vertical elements.

3. Export a dxf.

Is that possible creating a plug-in or its something that can be done in a diferrent way.

Thanks in advance.

Create views and set them to show only elements you want to export.  Then export those view.

2. Group elements in new layers. Let say I want to add all types of walls and colums to a layer called Vertical elements.

Change layer assignment under DWG Export options.

3. Export a dxf.

Choose DXF format when export to DWG.

Thanks in advance.
