Exporting SubCategories as Layer Names with DXF export

Hi All,

I am exporting my model as a dxf to do some work on it in rhino.

I have around 50 curtain wall sub categories. When I export- they are all assigned the same Layer name when I open it in rhino- that just takes the default curtain wall category names 'A-GLAZ-CURT'.

What I want to be able to do, is to automtically break down all the sub categories so they export as their own layer. I can do this manually, by just going to the Layer name next to the sub category and changing it- but its a tedious job when I need to do this 50 + times.

I have attached a screenshot to make it clear what I want to change.

By default that's how it works...subcategories will inherit the same layer of the category unless you change them manually. You do it once and you save the export settings and you should be good for next time

Alternatively, you can apply an override to the subcategories in Revit and use the option to export and create new layers for overrides
