Exporting rooms boundary from Revit in 3d views

Dear supporters,

I need to export the room/space boundaries as well as its windows and doors into 3D .dwg file. Currently, it is possible just in floor plan view (2D view) by selecting the 'export room, space and area boundaries as poly lines' and make the rooms visible in the Visibility/Graphics and then exporting the 'current view' in to  2D.dwg file.

But I want to be able to make the rooms visible in 3D view in Revit to be able to export the 3D view including the room boundaries and windows and rooms in to 3D .dwg file. How can I do it? could you please guide me?

Best regards,

Maryam

You can export only the Room boundaries of each level to a CAD file as polylines.  Then link the CAD files back in Revit and you will have the boundary lines.

There is also a Dynamo script that convert Room volumes to 3D Forms.  You might want to look into it.

Here's a video showing how to build the dyn routine.  Looks fairly straight-forward.
