Exporting IFC from Revit: Walls don't attach to roof

Hi everyone,

I am trying to export an IFC from a Revit model including four curved walls and a sloped roof. All the walls attached completely fine to the sloped roof in Revit but:

  1. As soon as I export the Revit file as IFC and open it in Solibri, the wall becomes unattached to the roof or at least it looks like they are unattached. (image 01)
  2. The roof’s corners where I have slop arrow do not show, as they should. (image 02)

I have tried same IFC file in Navisworks and I have the same issue with same IFC file there as well. However, it works completely fine when I export a NWC from the same Revit file (Image 03)

I have tried to use Void Form to cut the upper part of the wall, which did not help either.

I assume it should be the IFC settings; I have tried different settings, unfortunately I could not find anything to fix the problem.

I was hoping that I could get some tips or suggestion here. Any help would be very appreciated Smiley Happy

Not sure as I don't work with IFC file much, but--

-Which vesrion of Revit and IFC export setup are you using?

-On the Export settings in Revit, try unchecking Split Walls, Columns, Ducts by Level

-In Advanced Settings, check "use active view when creating geometry"--and make sure you have a view active in Revit showing the curved walls and sloped roof.

-Try setting Level of Detail to High

Hi,

I have the same problem. I noticed that it occurs when an attached wall exceeds the boundary of the wall/roof it's attached to and if the wall/roof is higher than the wall.

See the revit modell in the first image below.

Second image is the ifc modell in Navisworks. For quicker ifc imports into Navisworks, the "Revit IFC "options is unchecked (Options>File Readers>IFC) . If its checked the modell loads correctly but comlex modells take forever to open.

Hope this helps. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:
