Export to IFC seems to lose coordinates.

Hi,

Our process is to obtain the architects model, acquire coordinates and draw our services.

Our Revit file links back into the architects in the correct position when checked.

However, when we export to IFC (ticking IFC site elevation button), it seems the IFC coordinates go wildly astray. As a check, we open the architects drawing and link our IFC - its out of position by far.

Ive tried every type of "project origin" in the IFC settings - current shared coords/survey/PBP/internal coord and none of them sit in the correct position.

Can anyone help on whats wrong?

Thanks

Hi;

There is a workaround to fix this due to the difference between radians and degree angle measurements in Revit and IFC:

Using notepad++, open the exported IFC file by "shared coordinates", and search for direction, as a result many rows called IFCDIRECTION will appear, the 2 needed rows having the values will usually be at the bottom, Replace, the values as indicated in the below image, and save, then you can check the file in Navisworks or any other IFC viewer where the issue will be solved having the shared coordinates and and titling angle.
