Export to IFC - Imperial Units?

How does one do this?  By default an exported IFC file is in centimeters according to when you open it in Navisworks after. 

I've installed the IFC 2016 add-in but this has been to no avail.  So far anyway, I'm sure there's an option for it here somewhere...

Thank you for your post.  In this case it looks like you are exporting from Revit to IFC, then bring this IFC into Navisworks and then are seeing metric units as opposed to imperial units.  Do I understand this correctly?

Do you have a copy of the IFC file and RVT file for comparison please?

One thing to check is the settings themselves within Navisworks as the IFC does not have a setting from Revit to switch this outside of the origin.  By this I mean if the Revit model is in metric and then exported it will be a metric based file.  If in Navisowrks you are set to architectural units, when you use the measure tool, it should read in feet-inches.  Do you see this f you measure with the tool in Navisworks?  What are the units reported by the ruler?

To check units in Navisworks, navigate to the application menu (*big N in top left corner), then navigate to “options” in the bottom of that flyout.  From here you will then see ”interface” and can check the “display units” in the software>model.

So what I thought was the issue, an IFC export from Revit inserts into Navisworks environment w/ model units as centimeters by default, actually is not the issue.  My IFC's are still appending into Navisworks as centimeters even with this workaround -- which frankly does not matter to me just so long as my modeled geometry is exporting in correct relation to the main building model (the one in which my rvt has shared coordinates with).  The issue was my IFC exports were not in correct relation to an externally-produced building model -- before following the steps in the aforementioned article.  This was what I was wanting to fix.

You know how when you make an NWC export from Revit, there's an option w/in the Navisworks Options Editor so you can adjust coordinates to be Project Internal or Shared?  There seems to be no such option in the OOTB IFC exporter nor IFC 2016 add-in. 

Thank you for your willingness to help.  If you happen to have a more efficient way to achieve the same results, I (+ those reading this) would very much appreciate what you have to offer.

So, can ifc be exported from CADmep such that Revit can import in imperial as well? Both CADmep and Revit are in feet and inches but the ifc exports in metric.
