Hi, we are currently taking baby steps to integrate Floor Planning and Revit but have a few problems...
1) Fixtures appear to be converted at some stage in the Export/ Import function. They sit as 970cm in Revit but they pull into Floor Planning as 370cm... it looks like although the fixtures sit in Revit in CM, they are being converted into inches before being pulled into FP. Does anyone know how to prevent this? As far as I can see it would need to be done in Revit as there is no function to convert on the 'Import from Revit' button.
2) When fixtures are pulling in from Revit - in their incorrect size as per the above - fixtures that are at 0 rotation look to pull into FP correctly but all fixtures that are rotated have their dimensions flipped. I.e. Width 1000 and Depth 500 switches to W500 and D1000
Any help appreciated, I have also asked these questions on the Blue Yonder forums
Hi,
Don't know what type of format the export/import is done in (DWG and other CAD types).
Revit displays objects in real-size, only the elements you bring in need to have correct units setup.
Revit Export DWG can be done in Several units. (see below)
Also the Import into Revit has a option "AutoDetect" Units, if the dwg units are CM while the geometry is actually drawn in inch, the result will be scaled. Chose manually or set the units correct in the DWG ....

Is "Floor Planning" a software?
Hi!, it is possible we have already integrated that process in our projects using Revit / dynamo. We develop supermarkets for one of the biggest retailers in the Benelux (We make floorplanning for more than 100 stores every year between resets and new construction). How are you converting your Families/Elements to a fixture? if you are using Dynamo it might be that the Revit API uses imperial and for the export you would need to do a conversion.
Kind regards
