Export fbx with materials

Hello, with all revit versions prior to 2024 it was possible to export to fbx using the twinmotion plugin shown in this video:
https://youtu.be/jVpf0ve1QV0

It was useful because all the materials were included and everything was grouped by material. Unfortunately this plugin doesn’t work anymore in revit 2024.

Has anyone found a solution to that or a different method to export to fbx? The built in fbx exporter is far from useful.

Hi, i'm facing the same issue.

This option was very useful for export to fbx with all nesessary data.

Here what i did:

just add manually the folders:

to the C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2025

You can add it to all revit versions.

As of now it works ok.

Hi, thanks, but I already tried that, the exporter window opens, but when trying to export anything, it always shows this message:

At least in revit 2024, haven't tried on 2025.

why you don't use the direct links or Datasmith file to export to twinmotion ?

Because I need an fbx file not twinmotion. For now I solved the problem by using rhino inside revit and exporting to fbx from rhino. It's not as fast as using the plugin, but better than exporting with the built in fbx exporter.

I am on the same situation, and revit does not allow to save models in previows versions anymore so I see myself exporting from 2024 to IFC, importing into 2023 or previous and then exporting with twinmotion plug in from there. A real waste of time and resources. If anyone finds a faster solution I would like to hear about it!
