Existing to Phase 1 with Design Options

I'm working on a remodel which is adding an addition to the owner's bedroom.

Existing Room:

You can view the proposed addition is built onto the right corner of the existing. Use Fireplaces for reference.

Phases:

Existing

Phase 1

I've set the rear wall labeled P1 to be demolished in phase 1 and then duplicated/copied the same wall to be created in phase 1.

I need to have a couple of design options so I was planned to add the rear wall to each design set. However, I am getting this error message when trying to add this wall to the design options (see image above).

Any suggestions? The mentioned wall and door system highlighted by the error is an existing element. Not sure why it is getting held up.

The solution is in the error message. You can't put Hosted Families without their Host in DOs.  So, put the Host in the DO as well.

When you copy a hosting element to a design option you must copy any hosted elements along with it. In this case you'll need to select the balcony door and any other components that are hosted to this wall and move them to the design options too.

The mentioned wall and door system are not being added to the design option. I am not selecting them.

Sorry if I read you wrong? It's just that your screenshot tells me that whatever you are trying to put into the DO is hosted by something in the Main Model.  Whatever that "something" is, needs to in the DO as well.  Is that not what you are asking about?

I'm not trying to add that wall to a DO. The error is for the door in a wall that I am not adding to the DO.

It must be something to do with how the wall is joined to the wall that I am putting into a DO. Any matter, to solve this problem I have selected the wall and door and put it in a design option anyway just to make it work.

Strange.  Try rehosting the Door via Pick New Host.

BTW: Joins between DO and Main Model walls won't be maintained.  One of the things I hate most about DOs.

Cut the closet wall/door and paste aligned in Main model, Existing phase.
