I am having an issue with how phasing shows up in axon views. anything in the existing phase shows up as gray and the openings seem to not be cutting though the wall (see photo). I have tried copying to a new project and opening other projects and they all seem to be having this problem when previously they did not. I also tried creating a new phase but it does the same thing with any phase that is not New Construction. Any help would be appreciated

View Phase Filter = Show Complete?
...looks like it isn't. Are you looking for a different "Show Previous + New" display. That's controlled via Phase Graphics Overrides.
First of all, if you are not using phasing in the project, select All in Phase filter parameter at 3D views.
If you want to override an specific phace graphics, go to menu Manage / Phasing / Phases/ Graphic Override tab.
Then, control override at Phase Filter tab.
Here's a handy link for phase filters and how to use them: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2021/ENU/Revit-D...
So, I played around with the phase filters but it still is showing the windows and doors as the solid grey. Up until yesterday when this started, the glazing would show up like normal and the materials would not be overridden. It would just be the lines that got greyed out by phase. In phase filter, there is no override for the surface but it is still not showing up by category. I appreciate the help and info on the phase filters, though.
I'm pretty certain that this is all about View's Phase/Phase Filter and the elements' Phase Created/Demo'd properties.
Post your file.

What you show is typical when the phase filter = Show Previous + New, nothing is out of order there. How would you want to show it?
- If you want everything looks with the correct materials then set the phase filter to Show Complete
- If you want the new looks new and the existing half-toned but still with material then set the Phase filter to Show Previous + New, then edit the Phase settings > Graphic Overrides > set it like this
In your screen shot there is no material assigned to the filter but in mine there was. The view of it without a material override is how I've always had it and I do not know how it got changed but thank you!! Also your suggestion about halftone helps make the difference between existing and new more clear. Thank you
There was a material override in my phase graphic overrides that made the glass, doors and any existing material the generic massing.

Yah, I see that now. Thanks. Pretty much what I suspected from the get-go, and what is shown in that video I linked you to in my initial reply.
Yes, you were right, I had changed the material per the video but didn't think to hit the "No Material" button. I appreciate the help and the video was useful for a better understanding of phase filters and such. Thanks again
