Existing Phase Graphic Override

Hello,

I have a model that is separated out in phases: existing & new construction. Graphically, our model shows anything on  the "existing" phase grayed out, which we want to remain. However, we have some walls that are existing that we want to show up graphically like new construction walls do, with materials and colors shown. We would like the existing walls to still remain on the "existing" phase... is there any type of override to solve this issue? Thanks in advance!

One approach is Create Parts, set the View to Show Parts, and set the Parts to New Construction.

Select the walls you want to show differently, don't change phasing, save your selection and apply a selection filter. Or create a filter by a wall type property ie. / project parameter.

For walls with multiple layers, like mentioned above probably the best method.
...Or draw the wall layers seperately, override by filter (or parts).
...Other option is to exclude them as linked file set phase settings to show new, but that's not the most workable method.

...another option to not use phase settings and show phasing using a project parameter (ie. on/off parameter to exclude walls from view filter)

But using parts is probably the easiest method (unless you already are using parts elsewhere in other views where you need to show both parts and phasing without the exclusion...)

...a useful chart from another topic.
