I just got back from an Owner's meeting and the Owner wants to now keep the existing storefront and replace the doors within. In Revit the door wants to stay the same phase as the storefront (curtain wall) it's in. What is the easiest way to show the doors as demo'd on the demo plans and new on the floor plans in Revit? (While keeping the existing storefront gray on both plans).
I tried changing the lineweight of the doors to appear demolished using graphic overrides via Visibility and Graphics and also right click>override graphics in view>by element and none of my color and linetype adjustments were visible on the floor plan. I tried changing several lines to pink just to make it easier to see, and they all stayed gray.
I've researched and saw where on the existing floor plan set the doors as an empty panel and then place in a curtain wall panel with just the door and set to demo. This is a bit of a pain because I have 32 doors. The last post I could find related from this is 10 years old. Has Revit not done anything to fix this situation since?
IS THERE ANY EASIER WAY????
THANK YOU!
When I try that on the demo plan I can get the door panels to adjust the line weight and color. However, the color (black) is at 50%, I can't get it to 100%, probably because the phase is set to halftone existing. It makes no changes to the door swing lines.
Projection Lines.
BTW: Override Graphics in View by Element have hierarchy over Phase Graphic Overrides.
If you want to do it properly then use the approach of using and empty panel + infill curtain wall with a door. I understand you have 32 doors but changing 32 panels to empty panel types is easy; placing a curtain wall with a door once and copy paste it to the other location takes like what, 5 minutes?
In the end you will have them displayed properly in any views without any further work, instead of going through views and overriding graphics.
