Everything gets big when I decompose a DWG.

Hello,

First, when I try to import a site plan in DWG in revit it doesn't show. I've find a workaround for that issue but I don't think it's the "right" way to do it. My workaround is copying the site plan in a new DWG file with Autocad and then it shows up in Revit when I import it.

My second and biggest issue is that when I try to decompose the site plan everything gets big and Revit asks me to delete about 60 lines. Can you help me fix this please ?

I've try changing the unit in the DWG and it's a little better. It still delete all the text and doesn't import the line style in the DWG but it downed the number of error to 20 from 60.

Decompose? Do you mean you explode the imported DWG in Revit?

I would strongly recommend against that workflow. Link, not Import, the DWG in and keep it as a link. You can manipulate linetypes including weights, colors, and patterns via Object Styles or VG > Import category. You can turn on/off layers via the same method, or via Query button on the Ribbon when you select the DWG link.

Do not explode DWGs in Revit.

What's the purpose importing the CAD into Revit?  Are you intending to keep is resident in the Project, or just using it as a reference to recreate Revit elements from it?  And why explode? You can easily turn off all the irrelevant layers through Visibility/Graphics Overrides =>Imported Objects.  I would highly advise against exploding. If you notice your the Error dialog after exploding, you can see that doing so introduced a boat-load of Errors that cannot be ignored into your Project.
