Error when inserting nested family

I keep getting the below error when reinserting a nested family.  It happens every time but nothing ever seems to be missing.  Any ideas what to look for in the family?

Often there is a value on one of the types that makes the family break. If you open that nested family and change to all the types do you get the same error. If it has already been in the parent family, change all the types and see if you get a warning.
