From the same installation image some computers would error out when attempting to OK the Roads and Terrain definition in the Civil Structures Extension.
On some computers it would display as an AREX error. On other computers as an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." On other computers it would work correctly.
I found the solution and am posting it for others:
The Framework files reside at: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Extensions 2017\Framework\Components\Bridge\"
Some computers had a previous version installed. A complete uninstall and reinstall of Revit did NOT overwrite the framework files with updated files. The outdated files were throwing the error. To fix, I manually located the files in the installation package at: "C:\Autodesk\CivilStructures4Revit_2017_Win_64bit_dlm\Civil3D\Autodesk Shared\Extensions 2017\Framework\Components\Bridge\" and manually overwrote the files at "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Extensions 2017\Framework\Components\Bridge\".
