It might be a known error with the version of revit. Try getting the latest service pack or do a Audit to your file to make sure any corrupted data is deleted.
Hi @Anonymous
If you have Revit 2018, confirm that 2018.2 in the latest update. I hope you have that installed from your Autodesk Dekstop App.
Did you try disabling Hardware accelartion and see if that helped?
Go to "R" (Application Button) -> Options -> Graphics -> Hardware Acceleration -> Uncheck the box and click OK.
Please try to reinstall the Material Libraries by following the procedures on How to uninstall and reinstall Autodesk Material Library.
Let me know if this helps reosolve the ssue.

Hi @Anonymous
I did not see your journal file in the shared folder. Please try uploading again and let me know. I can better investigate the cause of this behavior with a journal.
However, I was able to test your Revit model, and I was able to apply materials. Revit does not crash. So the model is all good.
I was also able to find your Customer error reporting details (from the form you filled out when the crash occurred)
Can you try the below for me and see if this helps resolve the issue?
1.Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder with the name of your Revit installation:
Looking forward to your reply update.
