We are having trouble exporting some Walls to IFC. This is our current workflow:
Throught that process we realized that this .rvt, coming from the .ifc link, wasn’t accepting any color filter, not even when we applied a diferent material/color/surface pattern to the element.
Exemple of applying green filter to the Walls:
Also, these same walls are not exporting to IFC.
Exemple of wall that do not export:
Exemple of wall that exports to IFC:
Both elements were built the same way and have the same category: -IfcWall – IfcWallType.
Neither with nor without our propertyset the export worked. We also tried to export using Graphisoft plugin, but still no success.
The only way we found to export these elements was using Revit 2020. But any revit version beyond that faces the same situation.
Any ideas on how to solve this?
I would not follow this approach. An IFC file is meant a final output (think of it as a printout). While Revit has (limited) capabilities to open it and convert (some) things to Revit elements it is a hit and miss. It is also why you will not see IFC editors. It is purely meant to be used as over/underlays and combining different files into a single 3Dmodel.
If data is missing from the source file then it would be better to get back to the party who created that file and have them add the required data or find a way to filter the data based on the existing information.
In your case what happens if you get a new modified IFC? Are you then to repeat the process, opening the file and adding all the data again?

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
