Enabling To/From Room Calculation Point for Non-Door Family

I have a revit family with Type 'Security Device' to represent a keycard scanner.

Because this devise is placed in one room, but gives access to another, I'd like to have the Room Calculation Point support a From Room and a To Room the same way it would for a Door Type Family.

Is this possible?

The video you have linked shows the To Room / From Room functionality. But that functionality does not appear to be available unless I use the Door Family Type.

What I need is to be able to have that functionality for a different family type such as Security Devices

I think you can get it automated in Dynamo. Plenty of manual ways to do it.
But seems slightly unnecessary as it sounds like mostly the other info is crucial which is the To Room. You swipe a keycard (etc) that gives access to one "area" right?
I think I was once playing around with a similar issue with a door like family that didn't need to be a door but needed the parameter. But to get it to show in a schedule was unnecessary challenging I decided to go with a door family instead as it was similar to a door. Security Device I wouldn't shove into a door category tho' :grinsendes_Gesicht_mit_lächelnden_Augen:
