Elevation marker with horizontal line

I'm trying to create a custom elevation marker which has the detail and sheet number in the marker but I want the text and the line through the center of the circle to be horizontal.  The label has a checkbox for fixed rotation but the horizontal line does not.  I tried placing a generic annotation but that alos does not work.  Please advise.  Thank you

Are you saying that the OOTB one orients diagonally as well?

Sorry, @Pshupe, I got kicked out of the forum right in the middle of posting. Anyways, good thing, because I misunderstood you initially anyways. You want to place the marker pointing at a diagonal surface and you want the center line to be horizontal, right? I've always understood this can't be done; that the centerline is hard-coded.

I'll stick around. Maybe we'll both get lucky and learn a new trick to accomplish this.

..why don't you use a rotated a building section instead?

This cannot be done with Elevation markers.  That is the reason the OOTB marker has no line and only the sheet number label in side the box or circle.  The only way is use a section and turn off the section line and tail.

Why don't I use a rotated Building Section instead?  Because I'm creating Elevations and would like them to be sorted in my Elevation family type.

I guess then the question becomes why can't it be done?  Why is the Elevation marker fundamentally different than the Section marker?  The Section marker also seems to be overly complicated.  It's difficult to find the family that would need to be modified.  I will take a look at modifying the Section marker to suit but I do not want my Elevations placed in a Section family.  I guess I could create a new family type for the Elevations and call them Elevation - Section, if that can be done?  Thanks for the speedy response.

Regards Peter.

Unfortunately, changing the name won't change the Sorting and Grouping Order in the Project Browser.

@ToanDN - what about the text-dashed line trick that you have thrown around so liberally in the past? (if my memories of previous posts seems wonky than excuse me - my brain is still in vacation mode.....)

That is for section markers.
