Elevation Mark Type properties

Am I just missing something? In past Revit versions I could go to the
Manage Tab > Settings > Elevation Tags > then uncheck the "Show View Name"
check box in order not to show the view name in an interior elevation mark.
Now when I do that in Revit 2011 those choices no longer appear (at least in
my copy). Have they been moved? Is this a bug? See the attached screen shot
with 2011 and 2010 side by side.

Thanks

Figured it out. Apparently, since the project that I was using was upgraded
from Revit 2010 the elevation marks did not properly update. Also the
parameter options that used to be visible in the type properties panel have
changed in the Revit 2011 release. Now the different types are available
from the drop down list but I have not figured out where they are controlled
from yet.

What I did figure out is that all of the drop down options were not
available when the older version of the interior elevation mark was updated.
So I had to reload the newer version of the circle elevation mark into the
project so that it would overwrite the existing version. Once that was done
then the other types were available in the drop down list. Hope this helps
those that mey be updating an existing project.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem with the Type Properties of the Elevation Tag (drop down list empty).

How did you reload the newer version of the circle elevation mark into the project? The "Load..." button in Type Properties is grayed out. I'm trying to uncheck Show View Name and change the Text  Position to Inside but can't figure it out in Revit 2011.

I hope you can help me 🙂

Thank you

First, I have included the Help Documentation steps for creating a custom elevation tag [added in the 2011 release]:
Next, I have included an example workflow for creating a tag and addeding the “Detail Number” and “Sheet Number” parameters:
1.  Create a new Elevation Mark Body and Elevation Mark Pointer family.  Draw the pointer as needed, and load into the body family.
2.  In the Elevation Body lay out the pointer families as needed.  Then edit the pointer family again to add the labels.
3.  Add a label where desired for “Detail Number” and “Sheet Number”.  Load back into the Body family.
4.  Load the family into a project.
5.  Edit the elevation type to use the custom elevation tag family.  Manage > Additional Settings > Elevation Tages > set Elevation Mark to custom family.
6.  Add elevation tag, test adding views to sheets.
Hope this helps!  Thank you,

Hi, thanks for the answer! The video helped me a lot to modify the elevation tag (i had seen the link before on the autodesk help documentation but I wanted to find the same way used in Revit 2010).
I still need some practice with this though. For the moment i find it somehow more complicated than before and you really need to name the new elevation tags precisely to remember which labels you used.
Maybe I did something wrong too because when load the family in the project the pointers turn white and their label "view name" that i added doesn't appear either.
Anyhow, it'd be great if we could still add/disable labels directly from the Type Properties.
Thank you,
Vincent

Hello- I've recently had trouble eliminating the text tag from an interior elevation. I am using one of the Autodesk Revit 2011 training manuals, and they advise going to Settings > Additonal Settings > Elevation Tags. From there, I am trying to change the type to 1/2" circle and the graphics setting to "Elevation Mark Circle - Upgrade: 1/2". When I do this, the marker does not change, and the text is still there. Also, when I go back into the settings, they appear to have reverted to the default which is 1/2" Square.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

(See image - trying to get rid of that text showing up in the Level views!)
