Hello this is a follow on question when i align the datum lines from a building in one elevation is moves them in the other. In the previous post people suggest using scope boxes which i applied to the elevation views but it doesn't help, what am i missing thanks?
It sounds like you are moving the 3d extents of the datums. You need to move the 2d extents of the datums to have them change in only one view.
This topic and video might help explain:

You can also check out all of the topics under this section of help. it goes through the visibility of datums in a view.

As for a scope box controlling the extents of datums, the datums have to be applied to the scope box before anything will happen to them.

ok ive changed all datums to 2d versions but they are still moving in each view, i did this by clicking on the datum line and pressing it till it went 2d
If they are 2d, then they will only change position in the view you are working in/changing them in. I am not sure what to say or how to tell you how to fix without watching you actually do it. once they are toggled to 2d you should for sure NOT see them move in any other view other than the one you are working in.
You misunderstood what a scope box does to grid lines. They are for setting all grid lines to have the same 3D extent so one grid line does not go missing in a view when it doesn't fall within the view range.
When a view is cropped, the grid lines should turn to 2D extent and you should not turn them to 3D for any reasons. There you can adjust 2d extent of them grids as you see fit. If you have multiple views with the same view crop region, you can use Propagate Extent to match 2d extent from one view to all the others. If you want this function, you have to disassociate the grid lines from the scope box, unfortunately.
yes thank you i changed one side of the datum lines to 2d but the other side was still 3D BOTH sides need to be changed to a 2d version. thanks for your help...
Actually toan this problem still persists you see the datum line selected in the top right view and both sides are changed to 2d and look at the bottom left view and the left view see the datums are all connected. Isnt the idea that when they are converted to 2D they are independent?
They are all highlighted because they are the same grid line. They are independent in the sense that if you stretch the 2d extent of that grid in one view, it does not affect the 2d extent of that grid in any other views.
hmmm then not sure whats wrong they all only show 2d but they are all moving when i extend or shrink them..
I don't see how that is possible, when your North elevation shows them extended longer out to the East, and your South elevation shows them extended longer out to the West. Obviously you have been able to adjust them separately in each view.

Let's confirm we are talking about the same thing. When you stretch one locked level's 2d extent, all the locked levels' 2d extent within the same view should stretch along with it. But none from other views should.
Are you not getting that?
i wasnt getting that but when i have since reloaded the file not it behaves, Toan i could do with your help on coordinates i have posted...
