Elements Measure Advice

Hi all,

I need to measure the surface of the floors (or column on other elements) in the proyect.

The floor doesn't have a different characterics, but It will made by a different constructive strategies. So I need measure different areas on the same element.

Is this possible without cut the elements? How? Thank you!

Not sure if I understand you fully - are you talking about something like how much of the floor can be done in one pour?  You can Create Parts from the floor and divide it to smaller sections and assign them to different pours.

Parts?

I'm trying two different solutions:

01) (image 01) Split and then cut in different parts ( but in this solution the element is it not longer  a floor)

02) (image 02) divide by face and the "color" the face with a material

What do you think about? Which is the best way to do this in your opinion?

Thank you!

Both works.  But I am slightly preferring Parts over Split Surface and Paint.

When you create parts the floor is still there when you change the Parts visibility from the view properties to Show Original or Show Both Original and Parts.  With Parts you have more flexibility than split surface and paint, such as you can calculate the volume of each part instead of just the area, you can assign different material/phase to different parts, you can even alter the parts geometry with shape handles, all without affecting the original floor.
