Elements disappearing when moving group

Hello,

I designed a gate in my Revit project.

This gate is made out of different groups in a group.

When I want to move the gate to another place but some elements are disappearing...

I tried ungrouping and move but this doesn't work.

Some elements of the gate just won't move....

Can someone help me?

Thank you

I do have the disjoin option but this isn't the issue.. Only some parts of the gate will move and the rest will stay in place. Or the parts will be deleted when I try to move them..

Do you have Groups Nested in Groups?

  • Don't nest groups. In other words, avoid creating groups within other groups. Although nesting can save time in some situations when the design is preliminary and your team is trying to distribute content and design ideas quickly, you'll likely find a point of diminishing returns as the design evolves. You can't get to all the features and functionality of Revit when you're in Edit Group mode. And if you're nested deep into groups and trying to modify project properties, you'll quickly get frustrated digging in, out, and across nested groups to go back and forth between your group and the project.

I know but it's not a difficult 3D drawing.

I grouped the structure of the gate in one group and the small elements in another group and grouped those two in one big group. SO its basically just Two groups in One...

I don't know why it won't allow me to move the whole group to a different place. I don't want to modify anything just to move the whole gate...

Likely it's a hosting issue. Elements are on workplanes that move in different directions from one another.

...you may be able to fix if you have access to Dissociate under the Edit Workplane for the element.

Make the gate as a Family. I am starting to realize how bad Grouping anything is!
