Hi,
We have multiple project files were we have work plane based families representing massing blocks. These were originally hosted to levels however they aren't anymore. I don't mean they are <not associated>, I mean the Work Plane parameter for the element is blank (see screenshots), and when I click the Modify >> Work Plane >> Edit Work Plane button all options are grayed out. If I create another instance of the family they can be placed on work planes or faces as normal, in addition I can change the work plane as expected. Using the Revit Lookup tool, I can see that the host and face parameters are null. In all tests I've done in groups, linking, copying and deleting work planes in all instances the Work Plane changes to <Not Associated>, I cannot repeat this behavior.
Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
regards,
Kevin

Was the Mass associated to a vertical face? For instance, you can replicate behavior (somewhat), by placing a workplane-based Mass on a vertical face. Once the host face is removed, the Mass cannot be re-associated to a horizontal workplane.
Thanks for your reply.
All mass families were originally placed on Levels as the work plane, none were placed on vertical faces.
