Effect of Groove in external plaster

1. Need to create a groove effect in the external plaster. Please guide through the steps. 

2. Also how to apply external / internal plasters - is this an integral part of the brickwork family or to be applied separately. Please guide....

there are several ways apply such grooves easiest would be to use the tool Wall: Reveal (see image below), some of the other methods to do that is

  • using a face based or wall based family
  • adding the reveal into the wall structure
  • using a material bump (ie the wall in the model is not cut and the grooves are simply a material effect)
  • ...etc

 

For plaster there are also a couple of ways to do that:

  • Add it as a layer into the wall family
  • Use a separate wall element consisting of one layer just for the plaster. Using this workflow will require that you to join geometry with the main wall in order for inserts to cut through it
