Editing linked MEP model visibility in Arch model

I cant get HVAC and ductworks from an MEP model linked into my Arch model to show as black. I have tried VG, Linked model visibility, Linked model workset settings, and phases / phase mapping with no luck.

Can you please let me know what other options do I have and whether this is something I need to control from inside MEP model or from the family. Not sure... I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Could be any number of reasons. Let's start by looking at a screenshot of a View and View Properties. Can you post one?

It is possible to change the color of ducts and pipes in linked models by using View Filters in your model. Have you tried that yet?

Could you possibly guide me through steps I should take? I tried changing between host view and linked view with no luck. The problem is in MEP model these components are colored. Thanks.

View Tab > Filters

On the left side of the Filter window, add a new filter, and name it, for example "Pipes"

On the middle portion of the Filters window, find and select the Pipes category (optionally, you can add pipe fittings and pipe accessories).

On the right side of the Filter, under "Filter by" you can set that as (none).

Optionally, you can use a rule, such as "System Classification" contains "Supply".

If you leave the rule as (none) the filter will apply to all pipes without distinction.

Close the Filter window.

In the view, type VG, then go to Filters tab. Now use the "Add" button and select the filter that you created, for example "Pipes". Now set the graphics of the filter. Under "Projection /Surface", under "Pattern" or under "Lines" (it depends what you need) specify the black color that you want to apply to all pipes. If it is "pattern" you need to be using a fine level of detail to see the pipes in real thickness. If you use "Pattern", select "black" and color fill "black".

After closing the VG window, all the elements of the Pipe category will be black, even if the pipes were colored in a different way in the linked model.
