So I have this wall that I created on a face of a mass, then edited its profile and eliminated the lower part [as seen in the 3d view]. Problem is, although the wall is cut, so the lower part is missing, when I switch to plan view, it shows me the contour of the wall as seen from top view with a thin grey line [see the attached plan view].
At first I thought it might be due to an incorrect view range, but no change there seems to affect the view whatsoever.
Then I discovered that if I edit the same wall as having the base on an upper level [the same wall because if I try to create a new one, I manage to get unimaginable join problems with the roof ๐ ], the view in the plan is right, the grey line is not showing anymore.
Shouldn't the wall NOT show up in the lower plan view if its profile was edited, no matter where its base level is? Could this possibly be a view bug?

real quick...are you sure you're seeing a portion of the wall, or...are you seeing the mass itself? Trying turning Mass Category off.
yes, they're most definitely turned off and yes, that is most definitely the wall, you can see that the lines correspond to the upper view if you care to look at that axonometry. Also, there are several walls like that in the project and they all have the same problem.
Yes, with the base level being the same base level as the edited-profile wall, the top level is the current plan view [which is 1/2 m above the base level of the wall], however the underlay orientation is "look down. The cut plane in View Range is just 1m above the current plan view, doesn't even get anywhere near the actual cut wall.
If underlay was the problem, shouldn't I see only the base contour of the wall?
Read this. Does it apply? http://revitclinic.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/07/cut-behavior-of-low-walls.html
Worked!
But why is this happening, I should be seeing only what is lower than the current plan view, according to the settings. Also what happens if I DO need underlay?
Interesting, but that's not quite the case, I do not need it cut [it couldn't even be], plus modifying the view range does not show any results. The second option seems a bit related tho'.
