Edit Schedules

I am working on the occupancy load schedule, I noticed for some rooms, I can choose occupancy type from pull down menu -it has a little downward arrow; but some don't have the options to choose from, and I can't even just type to change it, I have to go to the plan and find that room, change from the properties. Why is that?

Just checked the properties, the one allowing options to choose from, has nothing in Occ_Use_Rm Key, while the one doesn't allow easy change has data in Occ_Use_Rm Key and the occupancy data is locked - grayed out, not sure what this Occ_Use_Rm Key is compared with occupancy; But if I can edit the Occ_Use_Rm Key, then I will have a quick fix.

There is a key schedule controlling that parameter. The key schedule is likely applying an occupancy rate and other information so it is all linked together. If a key is applied, it fills those parameters it is linked to and they cannot be edited. If no key is applied, you can manually apply values.

My suggestion is that you use the key schedule, as those are typically standardized in the firm. If you don't know how it works, ask someone who would know.

You use a key schedule to assign occupancy then values are driven by keys.  If you don't assign a key to a room then you can change the value of that room manually, which is not recommended.

I found the key schedule in the model and once I change the format there to what I was looking for - Voila, everything is fixed! Thanks!

Do you work in a firm? I'd make sure you confirm the changes you're making there are okay, especially if you haven't worked with them before.

Thanks for reminding me. However, the standards are not administered so well , the reason I wanted to update the schedule is the format in the model I am working on is not consistent with the go-by example project.
