easiest way to change coordinates in an existing project

There´s a project that has been started with the project base point being in the center of the building. Also "acquire coordinates" has been used using a wrong dwg. There´s a lot in the project, site, building, annotation etc.

I want to move the origin so that the whole site is in positive coordinates and I also want to acquire coordinates so that I get the world coordinates correctly in the project.

What is the best/easiest way to achieve this?

Does your project contain links?  You can correct your current model by relocating the base point and use that model to set the coordinates for the links.

Project Base Point has nothing to do with "Acquire" Coordinates.  Acquire Coordinates would change the Survey Point Origin, and consequently the Project Base Points Coordinates which are relative to the Survey Point Origin.  Why don't you just unclip and move the PBP to where you need it?

...I'm not sure what you mean when you say you "want to move the origin so that the whole site is in positive coordinates".  Can you elaborate?

Unclip your PBP and move it to where you want, then link in a file with the correct shared coordinates and acquire.

I did this and it worked (I tried this before but forgot to unclip the PBP then), but when I try to do a local coordinate system after this as a second option I get options to either move PBP to startup location or continue without moving the PBP (duplicate site and name it local, make local as current and then try to switch the values to 0 in this one). So I can´t make a local system with coordinates in zero. I don´t have this issue when creating coordinate systems in the beginning of a project. Is it something I´m doing that´s wrong here?

I know that acquire coordinates moves the survey point but when I link the new cad I get a warning about the links coordinates and the projects coordinates not being the same and the models coordinates being used so that´s why I mentioned about the acquire coordinates if there´s something about that process that I don´t know that would be helpful in helping me.

With this "want to move the origin so that the whole site is in positive coordinates" I meant that I want to move the PBP to a place that if you think of x y coordinates and PBP as origin the whole site would have positive values, as in the site being on the right and upwards from the PBP.

It doesn't matter what the Project Base Point reads. It only matters that the Project itself (e..g. the Building Model) is positioned correctly in relationship to the Survey Point Origin, which is the  Origin of the CAD you Acquired Coordinates from. Bluntly, your PBP can be anywhere you choose.

When you initially link in the CAD, you Link it in Center to Center, and then you reposition the CAD in the Revit Project

so that sits correctly relative to the Revit Model elements.  For instance, if the CAD is represents the Rough Grading Plans for Building Site 50, then you move the CAD, in Plan and Elevation, so that Building Site 50 sits directly underneath your Building Model -- and at the correct orientation.  In other words, the Link North rotated to Project North.  Once the Link positioned correctly in the Project, then you Acquire its coordinates.

Now in your case, I would suggest selecting the CAD and then pressing the Shared Site button under its Properties. In the Select  Site dialog box, press the "Change" button to open the Location Weather and Site dialog Box,  and the Duplicate and name a New Site  for the CAD. Highlight the name, press OK to close out, and then press the "Acquire" button and then the "Reconcile" button.

At this point, the CAD is sitting at the correct spot in the Project and Survey Point Orgin marks its Origin (a.k.a. it's insertion point).  The Project Base Point is reporting coordinates  relative to the SP Origin.  They are what they are.  Unclip and move the PBP to where you want it in the Project.  The coordinates will change.  They are what they are.

Now, the only thing left to do is set up True North.  Do you need to? Did you rotate the CAD about its x,y axis?

Yes I need to rotate to true north. The project has been started with drawing to project north and the true north has been set later. So the rotate to true north already exists in the project. What is the best way to accomplish all these together? I seem to have trouble when setting the rotation after the things to coordinate system you suggested, all elements do not rotate. Also problems occur when I try to keep the rotation in the project and do the suggested steps.

So how do I do this?
