I checked DWFX imports in both Revit 2015 and Revit 2018.
In both versions, saving the changes made in Revit will automatically update the DWFX. A simple save to local will achieve this, one does not need to synchronize. As far as I can see one can’t choose multiple links and then “Save Markups” back (Picture 1).
In the opposite direction one can fortunately choose all the links that were created for the DWFX (one for each sheet) and reload for all the sheets markups to appear (Picture 2). While this does give one the flexibility to save back one sheet’s markups at a time, it is impossible to see which import instance refers to which sheet by using the “Located in…” button (Picture 3).
In Short
- Save the Revit file (one does not need to synchronize) to save the changes to the markups back to the DWFX
- Select all DWFX link instances and reload when updating Revit with the new markups.
Is this the new method for working with DWFX files or is this a bug that needs to be fixed?
