dwf exporeted from revit 2017

hello everyone...

in the last month we have upgraded our revit from 2015 to 2017... when used to export dwf sheets and open then autodesk design review and compare mark up etc. when we export from revit 2017 it wont open in autodesk design review....

any ideas why is that?

many thanks

Hi @elad,

What is the file size which you're trying to open? I know it has been problematic in the past for some users if the files sizes are very large.

Alternatively, do you have the latest Design Review installed on you PC? Maybe even uninstall the current version and then re-install the latest version?

HERE is the link to the latest Design Review. Is there any errors which you receive? Please share them if possible.

I hope this helps! Smiley (fröhlich)

hi rudi.roux and thanks for your answer...

the files sizes are 25-50 MB .

the error message we get is "there was a problem displaying the page"...

I do not know if its related but the dwf includes some jpg..

and yes we have the latest design review version...

any thoughts  will be wonderful..

many thanks.

Hi @elad

Have you tried the following: (For testing purposes):

  1. "Save As" the Revit Project with a suffix of your choice e.g. - Revit-Project-TEST
  2. Purge the Revit Project (Manage Tab >> Settings >> Purge Unused in the Ribbon) - This will reduce the file size.
  3. Check for Warnings (Manage Tab >> Inquiry (top-right of the ribbon) >> Warnings)
  4. Lastly, completely unlink/remove the images and also remove any unused linked files.

Firstly, do step [1], then export and import, if it doesn't work, do the next step and so on. This way, you could try and fish out where the problem might be. You can obviously also try all of the steps at once. If you resolve the issue with one of the steps in the -TEST file, simply repeat the steps in your main model and continue from there.

Now Export and Import the File. You could maybe even try and export it as a DXF file? DXF is also supported by Design Review.

Did you export to DWF or DWFx? Try both and see. Also, if you export a Sheet Set, go through the Sheets in Revit and make sure they are properly laid out, E.G. no objects are way out of the Sheet border.
