Duplicate instances of linked IFC model(s)

Hello everyone, i have a question regarding a duplicated instance in a single linked IFC file.

When i link a certain IFC model into the project, i will get an olderversion of the model also loaded into the project out of the same IFC link, what I find undesirable.

The strange part is, when i open the IFC model in a IFC viewer is see the model as it should be. Also there is only one instance of the model in the V/G overide -> Revit links dialogue.

So the question is: how do i get rid of the older version which gets loaded in when i link in the new IFC file and
what can i do to prevent this from happening in the future?

ps.
(I've tried to rename the IFC file, so revit can't track the older version of the IFC link.
This solution worked, but this isn't the desirable solution i want. the name of the linked file have to be the same.)

i also viewed this topic (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-mep-forum/duplicate-instances-of-linked-models/td-p/3500678) (which helped me to understand the problem abit) only does this topic have two instances under the V/G overide -> revit link dialogue, and i only have one.

I also work in the bim360docs cloud and i think the error could be at the cloud. because when i put the IFC file on my desktop and link it into the revit file with the same name, then i see the model as it should be. (but then i have the IFC file local on my desktop which isnt desirable)

so maby i could ask this question in the BIM360docs forum

Hi @rsGY9LP,

I have a few questions to narrow down the problem. Does the IFC file come from Revit or another program? This is the key issue. Is there a chance to get a small part of the project from you in which this error occurs? I would like to test it, because without access to the IFC file it is hard for me to diagnose where the cause may be.

Thanks!

Hi,

we had the same problem here ==>

Revit.pngsome parts are shown twice: Old and new

Solibri.png

As said previously it's BIM360 related.

The solution is to remove the IFC from Revit.

Then check the Folder with Autodesk Desktop Connector where the IFC is located.

There are multiple .rvt files with the IFC (1 for each version of the IFC), you haver to erase them all.

Then load the IFC again in Revit.

Normally the problem should be solved.
