Redownloaded revit and updated my graphics and visibility settings as well as my graphic card settings on window systems yet the drawing portal is still not visible.
Not sure what you mean by drawing portal, but if its the crop region you mean, then you can turn it on using the View Control toolbar at the bottom left of the main drawing area.
Hi Alan, thanks very much for your suggestion but I still can't see anything in the drawing area.
Have you got anything modeled in the Project yet? On Level 0? Maybe the modeled elements are outside of the View Crop boundary? Resize or remove the View Crop Boundary. Maybe the model elements are hidden? Press the lightbulb icon to Reveal Hidden Elements.

@Anonymous
If you open any of the other views (marked below)...do you see anything at all?
If you open the above and see nothing at all...can you tell use what is it that you expect to see? from your attached image it shows its a new Project 2 which you started new...so typically it would be empty till you place something

@barthbradley Noticed you post the 33 reasons, but autodesk provides the same link and then adds some more things to check actually: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles... Don't know if you've seen that, fyi. So,actually 41 ![]()
Besides that it sounds like OP just has to uncrop the view (and/or disassociate scopebox perhaps).
