Drafting view alternative

Hello all, 

I usually have projects with typical details, from which I chose only one. I store the details in drafting view. I would like to crop drafting view same as any other view, but as I understand, its not possible.

Could you tell me any alternative?

Sure. Draw the detail in a model view then you can crop it. You can set the view's model display to None so that you don't see any model, just the drafted detailing and annotation.

Do you mean by making a plan view? 

I came to one alternative to by making plan view (at level that i will not use) and copied it. But it doesn't seem right because that way the information would be in model space. Did you mean like this?

Yes it can be a plan view, a section, or an elevation view. And no, what you draw there using detail lines, regions, detail components, annotation will not show in any other model views.  

For a better browser organization, You can draft every details in just one view, then duplicate as dependent and crop the dependent views for each detail.
