Drafting pattern will not align with element?

I am probably missing something easy here, but for some reason, my 1-hour Drafting pattern will not align with my element. Bear in mind, I am using a view template that overrides the normal cut patterns and colors of the walls, but I have set up a filter to override the view template. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Oops....didn't see you set it to align by element. If you use filter, it is default as keep readable. So your best bet is to embedded the hatch into wall and set it course.

Weird. I testing it out and it seems to work. See attached.
