Not sure what is going on, I'd just like to know if anyone else is experiencing this, or knows what might be happening:
At some point in our project, I noticed a handful of our doors were flipped (swinging the opposite direction than intended). It seemed to have happened all at the same general time. It is inconsistant which doors - a few of a few different types, so not like I edited the family and it flipped all of that family. I had in that time edited and added a "fire rating" parameter to the doors, and labeled those through the schedule. I can't imagine that would cause this, but worth mentioning.
Any thoughts on what might cause this? It's a bit disconcerning considering now I feel like I need to continuously check and make sure all my doors are correct - when I shouldn't have to.

In 8+ years, I don't recall a door ever flipping on it's own. Either you've got someone in your office who is randomly/sloppily clicking/mirroring things, or there's something screwy in your family. Since I don't have your door family to look at, it's hard to confirm, but your mention of adding some kind of family to the door families, and then experiencing this error, definitely throws up a red flag.
Can you post the family for review?
Considering I'm the only one in the office a) working on this project and b) knows Revit, I don't think anyone else has touched my doors. This also leads me to add that this is my (and the offices) first project in Revit, so it's very possible that I did something screwy editing the families. It's happening to multiple families, I've attached one for you to take a look at. What I had mentioned was that I added a project Parameter to all doors a Yes/No as to whether it is exterior or not, then added an additional piece of exterior trim to appear if Yes.
If you don't mind having a look at the family i loaded, I'd appreciate that! Thanks for your feedback.
Also probably worth reinterating that it's not consistant with families or types. It's a few of this family, a few of that family. The only consistancy is that non of the exterior doors swicthed, which is curious.
This has started happening on one of our projects too...have never seen it before, but it has now happened twice...seems to be about 1/3 of the doors flip, random families, no edits to any families recently, so no idea what is causing this. Originally thought it was human error (we have a couple of newbies working on this model), but cannot imagine they could manage to make the same error twice, especially after the panic when it happened before (we have over 500 doors in this model).
Stumped.
I'm going to contradict my earlier post here. I have now seen the flipping of doors happen, and it comes about because of the room calculation point. If you have the room calculation point parameter turned on in your door family, it will give you more control over where the door is reading the "from room" and "to room" parameters. However, if you go into your door schedule, select the room name drop down for either the "to" or "from" room and change it to the other option listed, your door will flip in plan.
It ook me the longest time to figure out why all our exterior doors kept flipping to swing in instead of out. And also why the room name for those doors (Lobby, Vestibule, etc.) wouldn't stay populated in the "Room" parameter of the schedule. If you have both your plan and door schedule windows open at the same time, you can test this for yourself.
Thank you both. We had thought of the space bar possibility, but the number of doors flipping seemed too high for that to be likely here. However, changing the rooms in the schedule was indeed the culprit.
Always fun with Revit, isn't it?
