Hi all,
I am creating a customized doors family.
Instead of using shared parameter I would like to add default doors parameters schedule into my custom family.
How can I ?
creating a new door using the template will give you some parameters, you can add more.
The easiest way to get lots of parameters is to edit an existing door that has lots of parameters and change it to what you want.
E.g Fire Rating.
If I add the Fire Rating parameter this will not match the parameter in schedule.
If I load rft. autodesk door, just part on those will be available in the template.
Hi.
That is true but they cannot be scheduled. I wanted to avoid tons of shared parameter if I can use some default one.
Yeah I know what you mean, like i said,
The easiest way to get lots of parameters is to edit an existing door that has lots of parameters and change it to what you want. In fact if you started with one of the standard doors in the default library and edit, they have a lot of parameters already in.
The default door template will give you those parameters and they can be scheduled. I have opened a default OOTB door template and loaded it into a project. These parameters are all available.

Why would you want a lot of parameters, you only want the parameters you need for your specific family. You should learn how creating and using parameters works instead and how to create these families.
Can be an Idea but I believe there is no way to escape from Shared parameters.

you shouldn't need to add the Fire Rating parameter it is part of the default door template. what do you mean by "will not match the schedule". you can add the default Fire Rating parameter to your schedule and remove the existing one. if it is not named the way you want you can use the Formatting tab and rename it to what ever you want.
