Doors Display as Projected in Plan - Need to show Cut

I have a door family with a nested top track and nested sliding panels.  With preview visibility set to on I see the cut panels in plan (no track) and in RCP I see the cut panels and the track above just as expected. When loaded in a project, the entire door assembly display as projected in plan so all I am seeing is the top of the track (top image) when I want to see the cut panels (bottom image)

- cut plane in family environment is set to 4' - straight through the doors.

- I've also tried setting the cut plane in the nested track family to go through the track (and below) to see if that does something, but no.

- Just for giggles I deleted the nested track and modeled an extrusion directly in the door family, but no change.

- it is not an option to turn off the track in plan/RCP as I need it to show in RCP

Any suggestions?

Why not just change the Visibility Settings for the Track to not show in  Plan/RCP?

Are you sure the Track you are seeing is not a Masking Region?

Because then it doesn't display in Plan/RCP and I need to see the track in RCP

I am absolutely sure its not a masking region. I made it myself and its just a simple box. Like I said, I tried deleting the loaded track and just do an extruded box in the hos family instead

Does the Track Geometry intersect with the Plan View Cut Plane?

Post your Family. We'll fix 'er up.

The track geometry is well above the cut plane. But I read that doors and windows are not cut in plan per the projects cut range but per the family cut plane.

My family cut plane is going straight through the doors, with the track above the cut plane

Yeah, first thing I thought of.  But, it doesn't sound like it's applicable here.  You say your cut plane is 4'-0" in the Family.  Like I said, if you want to post the family, we'll take a look at it.

Set the track to Show on Plan/RCP but only when Cut. And make sure there is no vertical element in the track family that can be cut by the cut plane.

Already tried that, no luck.. What did work though, was setting the track as a shared family. That's ok for now, but I would prefer to not have it as a shared family because I don't really want it loaded in the project to use in other door families with labels, so if you can think of another way to fix it I appreciate it

What category is the track family?

Its doors as well. I tried setting it to generic model and a couple other categories to test, but no impact

I don't know why you have to share it to get it not to show.  There's something else going on here.

Appreciate the suggestions so far. Here's the file if anyone wants to look closer at it, we're out of ideas here...

Oh, I see what's going on now. Your up is not up in the nested Family.  Up is the front of the frame.

Could you clarify? Sorry, I might just be too brainfried at the moment to get what you mean by my up is not up..? Does it matter which way it is in the nested family?

I mean, I tried deleting the nested family and modelling the track directly in the host family and that didn't even work

Sorry to leave you hanging. I got interrupted. Nix what I said. I wasn't looking at the track family. Let me gnaw on this a bit and report back.

That is because your door panel was modeled laying flat on the ground.

Works like a charm if I change the Category to Generic Model.

Here's my solution. Category remains Door. You can see track in RCP and you cannot see track in Plan.

We're still running on 2019 as latest so Im afraid I can't open you're model barthbradley. If you mean that you set the frame to be generic model, I thought I had tested that already, but I must have done something else wrong as I tested since that didn't work for me.

If this works, great, I'll keep that in mind, but I'm going to say ToanDN's solution is the answer here as it lets me keep the track in the correct category. Trying hard to not use workarounds but actually do the "correct thing". As far as that is possible without going insane...

Thanks for all the help!
