Doors cannot be added to new levels

I've recently loaded the US family of doors into my file but I still can't add doors to my first level. It's fine for the ground level. Moreover, I've noticed in my properties panel, there doesn't seem to be anything to modify the level of the door. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Attached is the link to the file if the screenshot isn't clear enough;

In general, basic Door families are Wall based elements (unless you model them otherwise)....you need to first place the door in a wall. (As shown below)

  1. By default it inherits the level of the view you placed it in.
  2. After placing the door, if you select it you will find the level parameter in the properties menu (you can change its level as long as the host wall extends to that level)

Thank you but even with the walls, I get the blocked cursor as seen in the screenshot above so I can't even change anything. The walls used in the file are the generic type, either 200 mm or 100mm. Moreover, I'm missing the ability to change the level for my doors as seen also in the screenshot. Is there something else I must do for the doors? Thanks again though!

Oh and additionally, think it's only level 1 because Level 2 and the ground floor seem ok

Because you level 1 is not actually level 1 (You have duplicated the ground floor and renamed it as Level 1 then adjusted the View rang)

What you need to do delete the current floor plan view which is called Level 1 ...then recreate it properly

OH that makes sense. I was assuming it was correct because of the 3D view. Thank you so much!:strahlendes_Gesicht_mit_lächelnden_Augen:
