Door trim? if that's what you call them

I'm still on my first Revit project and slowly learning.

On the exterior I'd like a frame round windows and doors. I found "Nested Families > Trim" These frames work well on windows, but there aren't any in the "Doors" library and the Window trim has one side too many for a snug fit on a door. How do I solve this. I've marked the problem in the picture.

simple. open your trim rfa and rename it. Then pick edit sweep and, inside edit sketch mode, delete the bottom, horizontal, magenta-colored line. Save and close out of editing sketch mode, and then save the family.

Open your door RFA. Select the existing trim and click Edit Extrusion (or Edit Sweep), as the case may be. You will be take to the sketch mode. There add another magenta line to the bottom of the door and click the green checkmark. Voila!

Just one more question, I've entered the editor and edit the trim, but... It turns out the window trim gets it's workplane messed up. When I open a trim it's in Top view. At first I thought it wouldn't matter, but back in my project the trim gets quite useless, I can't flip it to be used verticaly. I'm sure there is a way, probably only me lacking experience

I used a window trim to start with. Whrn I edit the window trim and still keeps all four sides of the trim or frame it is still an object that can be used verticaly, But when I delete the lower part of the trimming or frame it turns to a piece that only appears as a horizontal object

Is there a way to edit the coloring of the trim?

Can you share the family for a first hand look?

You cannot use the procedure I suggested before because this is an extrusion, not a sweep.  But, I modified your window trim family and posted here as "DoorTrim.rfa". Needs some clean-up work, but it now omits the sill geometry and bottom portion of the trim. You can edit extrusion to see what I did.
