Door tags in elevation with 'Room To.'

On interior elevations and sections, we'd like to have a door tag that shows the name of the room on the other side of the door.

In the schedule, we've got the Room To and Room From options, but they don't appear in the available parameters for Door Tag Labels.

Unless I'm missing something obvious, I assume this should be copied over to the Ideas Board.

Thanks

Yes you are correct. It is not possible to include the To Room within the door tag.  This is only possible in a schedule. You could create a project parameter and populate it using Dynamo.

This could be done pretty easily with Dynamo.

Thanks. I've added as a request for now.

Why not just tag the rooms? I mean, if your plan view is showing a bunch of doors going to and from rooms, wouldn't it look a little cleaner if you just tagged each of the rooms one time in the view, instead putting the to/from room info into every door tag?

I understand why they'd want this. There's a difference between having a room tag standing on its own and having additional info in a door tag. It'd just take 5 minutes to put a Dynamo script together for it. And if they don't know Dynamo then it'd be a pretty good opportunity to learn it.

You do?  Explain it to me then.

I just did? Do you want me to write a novel about it?

Its cleaner to have one tag with all relevant information. I'm not saying it should be industry standard, but I think its fine to do.

The OP is speaking specifically about Sections/Internal Elevations and so often the rooms in question aren't actually intersecting the section cut plane and so making it near impossible to tag said rooms.

Is that sarcasm I hear?

Whatever. Forget I asked.  I really don't care anymore.

Have a good day.

Not plans, Elevations and sections. You have a door in elevation, what room is behind it?
