Previously, I had created an Egress door tag which calculated the amount of allowable egress through a door.
A team mate has three egress doors placed very close together. Understandably, three separate tags would create a lot of clutter and I have created another tag that takes the previous formula and multiplies it by 3 and that will do for now.
For future reference, how can I set this tag up to calculate the egress for multiple doors? Without having to edit the calculated parameter formula, that is? I really don't want to make this anymore complicated - and prone to user error - than it is already.
(Of course, the ideal situation would be if the tag was smart enough to recognize multiple identical doors in close proximity to each other and calculate accordingly - do I ask too much? LOL!!)
How about you post your Tag family here. It is easier to show the solution there than to type it up in plain language.
You got it!! I am SO sick of creating multiple tags for groups of multiple doors!
(I'm sure there will be a lot more to come - LOL!!)
I realized this one only works when the adjacent doors are of the same size. If you have various sized doors you will need a different approach, which I am not sure yet.
Did this ever get solved for multiple door widths? I am trying to figure out a way to calculate the occupants going to a certain door as well. Is there a way that someone has calculated out how many occupants are going to each door? My office does schools and I am trying to figure out how to calculate the number of occupants going to each door without having to manually enter it. The tag that we use shows the # of occupants, Required exit width, and provided exit width.
You can get it done via schedule but the calculations not going to a tag unless you use Dynamo and that's another story.
