I just created a window schedule, when tagging/organizing the "type mark" value in the Type Properties directly corresponded to the what appeared on the window tag.
Now I'm working on the doors, the 'type mark value is set to "01" but the door tag gives me "24". Nowhere in the Type properties is there a value that says 24, so where is it pulling this from and how do I edit these?

Tag is not reading Type Mark. Probably reading Mark (an Instance Parameter).
It is a Mark, not a Type Mark. Edit the door tag family and change the label to read Type Mark.

thanks, sorta new to this, how did you get to that window to edit that?
Edit the tag family, select the label and Edit label.
Edit the Tag Family, select the Label and edit it to report the Parameter you want.
awesome thanks, fixed it. Where exactly does the "mark" value get pulled from? It's not in the type properties on the door family

Mark is seen on the Instance Propeties Pallette for most every element you place in your Project.
If you properties palette is not showing in the Revit environment, navigate to the Modify Tab then click the Properties button in the ribbon. You can also type "pp" at anytime to turn the properties on or off.
This will show the instance properties of any element you select, and if nothing is selected it will show the properties of the sheet or view or schedule or whatever you have open currently.
