Door sweep goes to every door

just a quick one

edit door, duplicate and rename and then make an architrave sweep, save as

but it changes every single door in the house regardless of door name size or type

I messed with it for a couple of hours and tried to find an answer

quick thoughts??

thanks

Daz

Try to apply to the element a parameter of visibility so to can switch it on/off in the Project...

that sounds about right.... you edited lines in a family. unless you have a parameter assigned, as @constantin.stroescu suggests, for Visibility or Door Angle that can be set in the Door Type, the linework will be applied to every door regardless of type.

Actually I read it a little differently. Sounds like you are saying you created a new door family by opening an existing door Family in the Project, renaming it and then modifying it to add a sweep. Then when you loaded this new family into Project and it changed all the doors of original (e.g. they all have that same sweep now).

Am I reading it right?

If so, it sounds like you modified a Shared Family as well.

You need different shared families.

You already saved as from one main family to another main family, you need to do the same for any shared nested family that supposed to be independent from one another.  One way to do is rename the shared families within the main family before editing them so that when you load the family to the project, they don't affect the existing shared families in the project.

With these little hints from the crew and some brain stuff I worked it out:
