Hi,
Hoping someone can help with this issue.
I'm working on a door schedule and I'm having this issue where the cells appear to be locked out.
Just yesterday I was able to edit the fields by selecting them in the schedule and it would give me a drop-down list showing all available options, however, today when I select the same parameters it doesn't show the dropdown. What's even weirder is if I select the door in my plan I can change the field under the properties and it updates the cell. I want to be able to update the parameter in the schedule without having to pick each door in the plan as it is quicker.
We do have a door key schedule; however, the parameters that I'm having issues with are not in the key schedule.
Also, currently this is only occurring in one project as I can edit the parameters through the schedule in other projects.

If you are referring to a view template, no there is not one loaded. Not sure how that would affect anything though as you can't control parameters through a view template.
If you are referring to the door style key schedule, as I mentioned previously the parameters that I'm having issues with are not in the key schedule so they shouldn't be getting overwritten.
Is this what you're referring to? (See attached Image)
If not then I'm not sure what you are talking about.
That is a view template. You can't control parameters with a view template.
Agreed. There's no such Revit thing as a "Schedule Template", but if you drill down you get Schedule Properties like I'm showing in screenshot. But, judging from your reaction, I doubt I'm on the right track. Can you post the file?
I can't give you the actual file but here's a stripped-down version.
You should notice that you can't change the value of the parameters in the schedule but if you select the door in the model you can change it.
For example the DE parameter (Changes door panel). When you select the parameter in the schedule it would normally give you a drop-down list of all the different door panels in the family, however, it doesn't. In all other projects, this can be changed through the schedule.
Arrgh! I think you broke it. I can't replicate it inside your own Project or another. Seem to be a corrupted schedule. That's my diagnosis. It's dead.
hmm.
Not sure what could have happened. Like I said it was working at the end of the day yesterday and when I opened it up this morning it was broken.
Anyways, thanks for trying.
@Ty.H : FWIW to you in the future:
The behavior of some fields changes when you add elements from linked models to a schedule. For example...
Fun thread. Thanks.
Thanks for the suggestion @ToanDN that worked. The only issue is that I need elements in links checked as there are some doors in a linked model that have to be on this schedule. I will need to check with my other colleagues on this project to see if we can get these doors into our model.
Thanks again for your help.
I imagine you have sorted out a workflow that works for you by now, but for the benefit of others in a similar situation, you can have the schedule that you put on your drawings set to include objects in linked files and have a working copy of the schedule that does not include items in linked files. Use the working copy to make edits to the Doors in the current model, with the ability to edit cells directly in the model.
You would have to open the other model to edit the Doors in the linked model, anyway, so not having those show in the working schedule should not be a major issue.
