Door Frame disappears.

Hello,

Experiencing a problem regarding the door frame. Door Frame disappeared when I changed door properties such as material and thickness. The frame is visible in the family editor but disappears once enter into 3d view. Here are some screenshots below to understand it better.

Could be several things causing this. I'm sure it's by design though.  Zip and post the Family and we'll tell you the reason.

Check and see

1. If the frame is under a different category and you have it turned off in the visibility/graphics

2. In the family and see if the frame is set to hide in course detail

3. Select the door and see if highlight shows the frame. I do get object glitch out from time to time. However it doesn't effect the print.

I checked all the visibility options, pretty sure everything is correct. Below you can see the properties of the door.

Pretty sure this could be the issue. The visible option is greyed out.

Does any Parameter have a Formula with "Masonry Frame" or "Dry Wall Frame" in it?  If not, it's Visibility is manually controlled by checking/unchecking this box:

Remove the formula not(Masonry Frame) or you select the door object and find ON/OFF parameter Masonry Frame and check it off.

Is the frame in the family for Masonry or drywall?  Click on the Edit to see.  The family should have two frames, do you see both of them when edit it?  I think the Masonry frame is missing.

Make it easier and Zip and share the file.

Glad it worked. Removed the formula and checked both the frames dry as well as masonry. Thank you everyone for your help and your time!

You need to be careful because they have the masonry and drywall options for a reason. The frame throat width and the rough opening dimensions are different for the two construction. A door frame in a masonry wall normally fits inside the rough opening whereas a door frame in a drywall wraps around the rough opening.

You got to be kidding me!  The solution credited is the one that says "Remove the formula not(Masonry Frame)"???

FWIW: I think I found the validation for that solution. From King James Version of the Bible: If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee.
